Nigel Watts studied at Byam Shaw, Heatherlys and Sir John Cass before it became London Guildhall University. Specialises in vibrant paintings retaining the spontaneity of the form in both line and colour.
His technique of drawing with paint is conceived from that developed by the French artists in late 19th century. Oil and turpentine on cardboard or strawboard to absorb the paint. He works now with acrylics painted directly on canvas but retaining the same principal. Happiest when selling his paintings from a stall or from his tricycle which converts to an exhibition stand. | ||||||||||||||||
